Sundaze 1419

Hello, it was eurostarspacenight tonight and it has to be said since all those eastern europeans joined it has become much more entertaining, before it had become as stale as those eurofile politicians with all that yada yada about peace in europe. Yes that was decades ago but these days it's all about a sell out to the multinational criminal gang that have been running the US these last decades. Anyway for some reason these eurofile politicians don't get it, have been corrupted or brainwashed. One thing is for sure they don't serve the people ! Bring on the guillotine for these idiots.

Meanwhile joe public get's presented a great international music show, after which they get to vote down those we don't like ! Yeah Oh and it's got nothing to do with the EU. The eurovision songfestival has become more and more a cheesy gay thing the last decade. So the winner of tonight, a tasteless dragqueen by the name of conchita sausage yes with a big beard to boot, all from the country that gave the world that other tasteless artist, A. Hitler. It was a pity for the Netherlands that became runner up with an intimate duet. If anything a very polarised choice by the public, expect more gay freaks on stage at Eurovision in years to come doing a Shirley Bassey. As for the Danish public, clearly they have been thoroughly impregnated with anti russian propaganda off late, a total disgrace. That female presenter gave me the creeps from the first time I laid eyes on her, nasty lot those Danes, time to ravage and burn down their coastal villages... (like once they did to us)

The coming month it's all about elektrolux's space nights. Space Night (full title: space night - All-tag nachts) is the name of a German television program in the early night/morning hours each day. It is a mixture of chill-out-music and images of the earth as seen from space interspersed with informative broadcasts. It was started by the Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) in 1994 and is now broadcast by BR-alpha, .....N'Joy

Space Night started in 1994 as a replacement of the test cards which were broadcast on BR at night until this time. The idea originated in the fact that the German satellite ASTRO-SPAS (see STS-80) had recorded many hours of video footage in space. The BR received this footage, edited the material and added downtempo spherical music.

As BR did not want to show the same pictures 7 days a week, both NASA and ESA as well as the German Aerospace Center were addressed. They offered more hours of footage from in and around space, which were thusly included.
Cult status and music.

The broadcast quickly turned into a cult: At raves in the mid-90s it wasn't unusual to show the images of Space Night on big TV-screens. Early in the morning after the rave it was often used to calm down, especially from 1996 and later, as Space Night's sound changed through the musical guidance by Alex Azary (a European chill-out-DJ), who provided a more electronic background music. This was a logical step that originated from Alex Azary. He headed the Club XS in Frankfurt where "chill out nights" started in 1990, supported by spherical music. Alongside, pictures of Space Night were shown, albeit the playback was a little bit slower than in the original program. The images did fit well to the then new music-genre and Alex thought it would be a good idea to show it to the people at BR. A meeting in Munich followed where he could convince them to try something new.

The compositions are also available as separate CDs, the mixdown starting from the album "Space Night II" is done by the German music label Elektrolux. In the meantime, twelve CD-albums with music to the television series have been published, with three of those clearly differing in musical style. While "Space Night Vol. 1" is an album featuring pop music, "Space Night Vol. 10" features Jazz music and "Space Night Vol. 12" is a double CD with classical music. A DVD titled "Best of Earth-Views" is also available.

After a change in tariffs by the GEMA, BR stated they would not want to continue Space Night starting in January 2013, due to the drastically increased royalties. Hence the series was ended on January 8th 2013. Numerous viewers engaged BR to continue Space Night by using GEMA-free music. The station decided to undo the cancellation, first by rerunning older episodes starting on February 25th, 2013 and to later broadcast new episodes starting in autumn of 2013. To accomplish this, BR will use music with Creative Commons licensing, encouraging their viewer to upload their favorites.

The restart was scheduled for November 1st, 2013. It had to be postponed to November, 15th, because NASA was not able to provide the necessary graphical material, due to the Government shutdown in the United States

It started by accident and was a dream wedding in space: When the Frankfurt club maker and label head (Electrolux) Alex Azary the BR-TV editors offered his musical know-how, he would also be able to barter for a friendly dissipation. But the All-Mighty the Space Night consented, Azary set to music from then on the "Earth Views" - and by the way was one of the best and most successful ambient compilation series ever.

Space Night Vol 6 is actually an increase over the also very successful predecessor. The recipe still works, because the musical spectrum was kept deliberately broad, without sacrificing the usual catchy "flow".

With Tosca and dZihan & Kamien representative of the Vienna Dub-school open the extended Space Trip, other highlights include the otherwise rather House-heavy Wamdue Project with the relaxed "Instrumentation", Sven Van Hees beautiful "tsunami" along with the wistful sound of the sea and "Anchorless" De-Phazz. Of course, plenty of tracks from Azarys own label were installed by the ambient-dub-masters Index ID on Fresh Moods to Soehngenetic, JFC and above sea level, given the wealth of Electrolux catalog a venial sin. One of the more exciting representatives of Electrolux school is George Pallikaris which introduces shortly before the end of CD 1 again tricky rhythm in the ambient cosmos before Amphotic set with "Space Talk" discreet final chord.

The second CD begins with ambient-dub at its best, the Washington Thievery Corporation does "It takes a thief" sounded from their DJ-Kicks album. Much snappier gives itself the Groove Armada with their percussive "Serve Chilled" the honor. By Nick Bracegirdle aka Chicane Azary has selected "Low Sun" one of the best tracks, the sound while navigating on the border to kitsch, but can just relax heart and soul. The rest of the evening belongs almost entirely to the Electrolux artists, the finest heard Christoph Söhngen aka Son Genetic, the flat ambient sounds "old school" with casual slow motion grooves combined. Overall, a really fine Space Trip of addictive, but is guaranteed without any harmful side effects. Even better, the double could have been no more than a mix CD, so that no break may interrupt the inner movie in your head.

This album contains the soundtrack of BR Space Night' s magic 60 min. videomix "Earthviews VII" shown on BR-TV.

Just recently discovered this series and am super disappointed in myself for not finding them 17 years ago... I feel it would be too bold to ask for all the Space Night releases so I picked this as my most wanted. If you'd be so kind it would be great if you could repost. If you are ever bored I'd be grateful for any more as well :). Thank you!
